Summer 2006

Pro Football Hall of Fame Parade

Each year, for a week at the end of July / Beginning of August, there are many celebrations for the induction of new enshrinees at the nearby Pro Football Hall of Fame, in Canton, Ohio.

There is a Grand Parade on the final Saturday of this week of festivities. I had the privilege of driving our convertible in the parade, and transported one of the beautiful Philadelphia Eagle cheerleaders up the parade route.

As the young lady was getting situated in the back of my car, I had the extreme pleasure of chatting with Pro Football Hall of Famer Tommy McDonald. Tommy played professional football from 1957 through 1968, and played collegiate football at Oklahoma from 1954 through 1957 (Oklahoma was undefeated during this time!).

Tommy is an absolutely delightful and unassuming human being as well as having been one great football player - you can see his Pro Football Hall of Fame biography here.
